A car that will not start is usually a battery, a starter, an alternator, or a connection between them—and the cheap test tells you which before anyone buys a part. We load-test the battery, check charging output, and measure the actual voltage drop across the cables.
The harder version is a car that starts fine most days. That is normally a parasitic draw or a corroded ground, and both are found by measuring rather than replacing. Minnesota winters expose both, which is why January is our busiest electrical month.
Typical timeline: Battery, starter, and alternator work is often same-day. Parasitic draw and intermittent wiring faults take longer by nature—sometimes an overnight—because the fault has to be caught happening.

Parasitic draw diagnosis
For the car that is dead every few mornings. We measure current with the vehicle asleep and isolate the circuit that is staying awake.

Chafed harnesses, corroded connectors, rodent damage, and bad grounds—the actual cause behind a lot of faults that look like failed components.
Fuse, relay & circuit troubleshooting
Power windows, lights, blowers, and accessories that quit: we trace the circuit to the break instead of swapping parts down the line.
Why electrical problems get misdiagnosed
Most electrical complaints are connection problems wearing a component’s costume. A starter that clicks can be a starter—or a voltage drop across a corroded cable end. A blower that works on high only is a resistor or a connector, not a motor. Measuring at the component tells you which side of the wire the problem is on, and that is a ten-minute test that saves a part.
There is work we deliberately do not take on: we do not program, flash, or relearn modules, we do not program keys or immobilizers, and we do not install accessory wiring such as remote start, auxiliary lights, or trailer brake controllers. If that is what you need, we will tell you at the counter instead of halfway through.
