Parts-swapping is expensive guessing. A code tells you which circuit reported a problem—not which component failed. We hook up a bidirectional scan tool, watch live data while the fault is happening, and test the sensor, wiring, and ground before recommending anything.
Diagnostic work is $125 per hour with a one-hour minimum, and we tell you what we found at the end of that hour whether the answer is simple or not. If you approve the repair afterward, that diagnostic charge is waived.
Typical timeline: Most diagnoses land within the first hour or two. Intermittent faults can take longer—we will call with what we know before spending more of your money.
What we need from you
- Any codes already pulled, even from a parts-store scan.
- When the problem happens: cold start, highway speed, turning, after refueling, or only sometimes.
- What has already been replaced, and by whom.

What we offer
Bidirectional scan tool work
Manufacturer-level access to command components, run system tests, and read the data the generic code readers never show.
Live data & circuit testing
We watch sensor values while the problem happens, then test the actual sensor, wiring, connector, and ground rather than trusting the code.
Smoke testing for leaks
A smoke machine finds EVAP and vacuum leaks—the small cracked hose or failed purge valve behind a lean code or a stubborn EVAP light.
Mechanical testing
Compression, leak-down, and fuel-pressure testing when the question is whether the engine itself, or what is feeding it, is the problem.
What a real diagnosis includes—and what we refer out
A diagnosis is worth paying for when it ends the guessing. On a misfire that means confirming which cylinder, then separating spark, fuel, and compression as causes. On a lean code it usually means smoke testing before touching a sensor. On an intermittent electrical fault it means catching it in live data rather than replacing parts and hoping.
We are honest about our boundaries. We do not do waveform or oscilloscope-level analysis, and we do not program, flash, or perform module relearns—if your vehicle needs programming to complete a repair, we will say so up front and refer that portion out rather than start a job we cannot finish.

About diagnostics at our Rogers shop.
Diagnostic work is $125 per hour with a one-hour minimum, so it starts at $125. If you approve the repair we recommend, that diagnostic charge is waived in full.
We can, if you tell us that is what you want. We will also tell you when the code commonly points somewhere else—a P0171 is far more often a leak than a bad sensor, and we would rather smoke test first than sell you a part twice.
No. We do not program, flash, or relearn modules, and we do not program keys or immobilizers. When a repair needs that step, we tell you before starting and refer that part of the job.
Yes, but tell us the pattern—what it takes to make it happen. Intermittent faults are found in live data under the conditions that trigger them, so knowing when to look is most of the work.
